Termination of UCSD Sanitary Sewer Lateral Repair Permit Program

Plumbers and sewer contractors will need to obtain a sanitary sewer lateral repair permit from the City or Village where the repair is being performed at.


Sanitary sewer lateral repair permits will be issued by the following municipal agencies: 


City of Champaign -  https://champaignil.gov/public-works/find-a-service/sanitary-sewers/

City of Urbana - https://urbanaillinois.us/permit-forms (Plumbing Permit (under Building Permits) and/or Utility & R.O.W. Permit may be required)

Building owners are still required to apply to UCSD for Connection Permits for all reasons in Ordinance 691, as amended which is available here Ordinance 691 - Establishing Connection Fees 


This includes for sanitary sewer connections on new construction or renovation/remodeling projects that result include new sources of wastewater, in a significant change wastewater generation, or that changes the use of a building. If you are uncertain about the need for a UCSD permit, contact the UCSD Engineering Department and we will provide a response as soon as possible.
